Mini MAC Research Intern

Thanks to generous funding from Santander, we are able to offer a unique paid graduate research internship on our Mini MAC project.  The internship is to assist with the on-going evaluation and research of the Mini MAC model and service. This internship is offered for a 4 month contract and provides “hard to find” experience for graduates seeking to develop knowledge of the voluntary or health sectors. Home Office Ending Gang and Youth Violence Conference

1 in 3 young people who offend have an unmet mental health need at the time of their offence. CEO Dr Charlie Alcock and Mark Chentite, Junior Mental Health Worker and Mini MAC Tutor, will be joining Prof. Mark Bellis and Prof. Sue Bailey to discuss the importance of recognising that youth violence is as much a national health issue as a criminal justice one.

CEO Dr Charlie Alcock presented at the Roundtable Discussion at the Labour Party Conference in Manchester. The event was hosted by Catch22 Dawes Unit, the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit and the Centre for Social Justice Labour Party. The theme of the event was enterprise as a solution to unemployment. Namely that enterprise holds the promise of realising an individual’s entrepreneurial and creative talent, of job creation and of empowerment for people and communities.
